Blended Family Wedding Ceremony
In a Blended Family Ceremony, your children are called up to join you and your spouse just after the ring ceremony. Typically your officiant will then talk with the children about the fact that the two of you are both marrying each other and making a commitment together to love them and help them grow up happy. Typically your officiant will also talk about how they can either help make a happy family and thus have a happy life . . . or they can behave in ways that will make them have an unhappy life.
If you choose, at this time you and your spouse can give a small piece of jewelry to each child as a symbol of your joint commitment to them.
After your children have received their gift, the officiant will lead you into the final pronouncement of marriage, the First Kiss. The children will remain with you , and you all will be introduced together . . . “now legally a family”.
