Romantic Elopement 9

This is a new script!  Travis and Sarah just got married!  They gave me this script to perform, and I love it!  So, I'm sharing it with you!

 Opening & Welcome

Welcome, and thank you all for being here with Name and Name on this day that means so much to them.

For the two of them, marriage is a choice. It is the decision to be each other's partner in all things, to stand side by side when life is easy and when it is not. It is dedication, love, and acceptance. It is seeing another soul up close - their strength, their softness, their quirks and flaws - and saying, "Yes. I choose you. I choose this."

They know that real love lives in the everyday moments. It is in the quiet mornings, shared meals, inside jokes, small kindnesses, and the way you show up for each other when life is hard. It is in wanting to really know one another and to be known in return. It is in choosing to grow together, not apart.

Today is not the beginning of their story. It is one more chapter in a love that has already been built through time, conversation, laughter, and a deep commitment to being each other's person. Today, in front of the people they love most, they are stepping fully into that commitment and choosing one another as husband and wife. (or, Partners for life)

Name and Name would like to thank you all for being here. Your presence here is part of the love that surrounds them as they step into marriage.

In this space, we are not promising a perfect life. We are honoring their choice to walk through every imperfect, beautiful, ordinary, and difficult day side by side.

The I do's

Vow 1

Do you choose each other as partners, best friends, and favorite person, promising to show up for both the ordinary days and the extraordinary ones, trusting that life is simply better together?

Name, do you make this promise?
I do.

Name, do you make this promise?
 I do.

Vow 2

Do you promise to protect what you have built together, to keep choosing curiosity, kindness, and laughter, and to hold on to the love that first brought you here, even when life feels heavy?

Name, do you make this promise?
 I do.

Name, do you make this promise?
 I do.

Vow 3

Do you promise to see and accept each other as you truly are, to honor each other's hearts, dreams, and growth, and to create a home filled with safety, respect, and belonging?

Name, do you make this promise?
 I do.

Name, do you make this promise?
 I do.

Vow 4

Do you promise to stand beside one another through all the seasons of your life, the easy ones and the hard ones, choosing each other again and again as partners in this marriage?

Name, do you make this promise?
I do.

Name, do you make this promise?
I do.

Name and Name, you have just shared your promises. Now I will ask each of you to make a simple, clear declaration of your intent to be married.

Name, with your whole heart, do you freely and gladly choose Name as your Husband/Wife/Partner, promising that the "yes" you speak today is a "yes" you will carry into all the days to come?
If so, please say, "I do."

 I do.

Name, with your whole heart, do you freely and gladly choose Name as your Husband/Wife/Partner, promising that the "yes" you speak today is a "yes" you will carry into all the days to come?
If so, please say, "I do."

I do.

Ring Exchange

May I have the rings, please?

These rings are a simple circle, with no beginning and no end. They are a symbol of the promise you make today. Each time you see these rings, may you remember that you chose one another, on this day, in this moment, fully and willingly.

Name, please place the ring on Name's finger, and if you wish, repeat after me:

"With this ring, I choose you,
and I promise to love you,
to stand beside you,
and to share my life with you,
for all of my days."

Name, please place the ring on Name's finger, and if you wish, repeat after me:

"With this ring, I choose you,
and I promise to love you,
to stand beside you,
and to share my life with you,
for all of my days."

Pronouncement

Name and Name, you have declared your love and your intent to be married. You have promised to choose each other again and again, to support one another, and to build a life and a family together grounded in love, respect, and partnership.

By the power vested in me by the state of Indiana, I now pronounce you husband and wife!  (Or, Partners for Life!)

You may kiss your Bride/Husband!

Diversity Statement
Marry Me In Indy celebrates the diversity of the human race. We are open to marrying anyone. Every race, creed, skin color, nationality, sexual orientation, or neuro-diversity. All are welcome here!  Our goal is to meet each couple where they are and help them have a positive wedding experience. We approach every wedding with an open mind - We don’t know anything about you until you tell us, and that’s only if you choose to tell us. Wedding ceremony scripts have been written for years for brides and grooms. Some couples are choosing to forego traditional gender roles altogether and are using the terms spouse or partner. If you have made the choice to use non-traditional pronouns, please let me know, and we will be happy to honor your preferences.   Any wedding ceremony script can be changed to reflect your personal preferences. The only second language we speak is German, but we do our best to communicate with everyone.
