Inter-faith Jewish Wedding Ceremonies In Indiana
I'm a non denominational minister and a wedding officiant. I'm not a Rabbi. That's obvious. I am familiar with many of the traditions of a Jewish wedding and always learning more and happy to incorporate them into your wedding ceremony. There is a very large Jewish community in Indianapolis. You can't always help who you fall in love with. Love is a universal and unifying force.
I grew up as an Episcopalian. I was very christian. I have also always been fascinated with Judaism. I love the blessings and the prayers and the devotion. My favorite blessing is "Blessed are thou, oh Lord, our God, king of the universe. You have kept us alive, sustained us and brought us to this wonderful moment." The Seven Blessings for a Jewish Wedding have been updated and are very suitable for all weddings. The breaking of the glass is a fun tradition. (Use light bulbs in a bag, a glass can be difficult to break!) I've performed ceremonies under amazingly beautiful chuppah's. I've signed a beautiful katubah with an interfaith couple. There is so much beauty!
I recently wrote a ceremony for an interfaith couple explaining all of the customs so all of their guests know what is going on during the ceremony and the meaning of each step in the process. I love learning about it and participating in the ceremony.
If you are looking for a wedding officiant to help you incorporate Jewish customs in to your wedding I am happy to help! Contact me to schedule a meeting or to find the answers to any questions you might have about an inter-faith wedding.
