Brittany And Tyler's Wedding Ceremony Script.  The Cardinal Room, Lebanon, IN

Brittany and Tyler's Wedding Ceremony Script Marry Me In Indy! The Cardinal Room
Brittany and Tyler were married at the Cardinal Room in Lebanon, IN.  With all the crazy weather we have been having in Indiana I'm always so happy when we get a dry day.  If It's cloudy or cold, I can deal with it.  Just not rain. We've had so much rain!  Sunday morning it rained and rained and Sunday afternoon it rained some more. And then, it stopped!  The clouds rolled back and the waters parted and Brittany and Tyler had a beautiful wedding day!

The Cardinal Room is set in the middle of a golf course northwest of Indy.  It's a beautiful, quiet spot for a wedding. They have lovey outdoor areas for your ceremony and cocktail hour but it's also very well  set up very well to accommodate the weather.  Their outdoor ceremony area is covered and they can drop down plastic windows just in case. The banquet room itself is HUGE so you can get married inside without being cramped if you choose to get married cabaret-style - I've performed several weddings there cabaret style.

I always love going to the Cardinal room because the staff is very friendly and attentive.  Couples always give great feedback.
The Wedding Ceremony
Brittany decided to walk herself down the aisle and instead of asking the traditional "Who gives this woman to be married" We asked "Who presents this woman and this man to be married to each other?"  The presentation of the both the bride and groom by their parents, friends and family is very popular this season.  While father's are still escorting their daughter down the aisle and giving them away in age old wedding tradition, I think the trend of including the groom in this part of the ceremony is here to stay.  Click here for more options for the "giving away of the bride and groom."

Brittany and Tyler shared wedding vows they wrote for each other in a non-traditional way.  They took turns sharing their vows.  You can read what they wrote below.
Victoria: “Ladies and gentlemen, please stand for the bride”
Brittany walks down the aisle
Tyler comes forth to receive her
Victoria: “Please be seated” (parents remain standing).

Who presents this woman and this man to be married to each other?
All parents say, “We do.”

Welcoming
Other ways to welcome your guests

We have been invited here today to witness and celebrate the uniting in marriage of Brittany and Tyler. They are taking the first step of their new beginning; their new life together. The ability and desire for one human being to love another is perhaps the most precious and fulfilling gift that has been entrusted to us. It is an all-consuming task, a lifelong endeavor — the journey we’ve been preparing for all of our lives. Loving someone is a reason to stretch beyond our limits, to become more for the sake of the other. It is to look into the soul of your beloved and accept what you see. Loving is the ultimate commitment which challenges humans to become all that we are meant to be. As they join in marriage today, Bride and Groom are announcing to the world that they are welcoming that challenge.

This event is shared, if in a different way, by those who have passed beyond this life. Their roles in the lives of Brittany and Tyler are gratefully remembered and honored as we witness this joyous event. Join with us in fond memory of all of these people.  In their memory, let us be silent together

(Moment of Silence……..Thank you.)

Vows

More options for secular wedding vows

Brittany and Tyler are now going to exchange vows they have written for each other  (Tyler first).
They emailed me their vows and I printed them out and gave them to them during their ceremony so they wouldn't have to worry about them.   Here are their vows:

T: 1 universe; 8 planets (depending on who you ask); 7 seas; 195 countries; And we found each other.

B: Since that day, we’ve fallen in love a little more everyday.

T: I take you as you are, loving who you are now and who you are yet to become.

B: I promise to learn with you and grow with you as we work on our marriage and our love.

T: I cannot promise to love you perfectly, but I can promise to love you overwhelmingly, until we skid sideways into our graves after a full life of adventure.

B: I cannot promise you an easy life or that I will not disappoint you, but I can promise you that I will choose to love you every day.

T: I see these vows not as promises but as privileges: I get to laugh with you and cry with you; care for you and share with you; and build a home full of laughter, love, and learning with you.

B: I promise to respect and support you, to be patient and loving, to work by your side to achieve our dreams, and to savor our time together.

T: I will keep on loving you for the million little things you do that make you unique.  I will even be patient when it’s past your bedtime or I’m hangry.

B: I will love you for your best qualities and your worst, because they make you who you are.

T: May we always find comfort in being alone together.

B: May we be friends, partners, and lovers for the rest of our days.

Ring Exchange

May we have the rings, please?  (The Best Man, Alex, will have them.)

At this time Alex will you take out the rings Brittany and Tyler have chosen for each other, for these rings will be a visible sign of the vows they have made.

Click here for more scripts about the meaning of the wedding rings

The hand you place this ring on will not stay the same. In time, wrinkles will form, calluses will come and go, and different scars may appear. Not only will each of you change physically over time, but internally you will change as well. Your ideals, values, hopes may evolve. Things that are important to you today may not be the same over time. In 10, 20, 30 years you will change, but your rings and your commitment to each other, will be constant.  May your rings always remind you that there is one other person in the world that has pledged to love you forever, through thick and thin, with all that they have. May your love be constant as you walk together into this grand adventure.
