Readings

The first reading is a quote from Albert Einstein on Relativity

Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people falling in love.
How on earth can you explain in terms of chemistry and physic so important a biological phenomenon as first love?
Put your hand on a stove for a minute and it seems like an hour.
Sit with that special girl for an hour and it seems like a minute.
That’s relativity."

The Second Reading is Lyrics from the song ‘Finale’ From The Nightmare Before Christmas

My dearest friend, if you don’t mind
I’d like to join you by your side
Where we can gaze into the stars
And sit together, now and forever
For it is plain as anyone can see
We’re simply meant to be.

Jeremy and Erin...A friendship turned true love, that has stood the test of time and distance.  From red-eye flights on stolen weekends, to a few precious weeks each year to be together, if only for a moment.
And finally...after 8 loving years...they will now take vows and enter the next chapter of their lives together in marriage.

Do you Jeremy, take Erin, to be your wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do you part.

Jeremy:  I do.

Do you Erin take Jeremy, to be your husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do you part.

Bride:  I do.

The Meaning of the Wedding Rings
more options

The rings are the universal symbols of marriage.  They mean many things.  From now on you will wear these rings and they will remind you...  They will remind you of the endless circle that they are.  Like love, there is no beginning and no end.  They will remind you daily that you are married.  Sometimes they will remind you of the commitment that you have made - for better or worse.  But, may they always remind you that there is one other person in the world that has pledged to love you forever, through thick and through thin and with all that they have.

please repeat after me....

Erin, I give you this ring with all that I am and all that I ever will be.  Wear it and know that I love you.
As you place the ring on her finger please say:  With this ring, I, Thee, wed.

Jeremy, I give you this ring with all that I am and all that I ever will be.  Wear it and know that I love you.
As you place the ring on his finger please say: With this ring, I, Thee, wed.

The Unity Candle
more options

At the beginning of the ceremony, Erin and Jeremy’s mother’s lit these two candles. Now, Erin and Jeremy are going to use those candles to light their candle together.  There is great meaning behind this.  Their mothers are where it all began.  They gave birth to them and raised them.  Essentially, their mothers loved them and taught them how to love and helped to give them the foundation of who they are today. All of you here, family and friends, also helped to make them who they are. Now, through marriage, we are joining your two families together and all that has gone before now blends here towards your becoming.  These two candles will now join together to make one new flame that we hope will burn brightly for many years to come.

Jeremy and Erin come back together to join hand for a the final blessing.
