Where to Elope In Indy!

A wedding officiants guide to where to have a simple wedding!

Where we can get married?

There are so many options!

We've been marrying couples in Indiana for over 14 years and met couples in all sorts of locations.  This is our guide to sharing some of these locations with you.

You are not limited to these locations.  We are just sharing ideas.  We strongly suggest visiting a place before deciding to get married there.  Things can change quickly with traffic, park renovations, and unexpected changes in the park itself. Some of these pictures are old and may have been taken in a different season than you are choosing to get married.

We are not wedding planners.  We are wedding officiants, you let us know where you are getting married and we will come and marry you there.  We hope this guide will help make it easy to find the perfect place for you!

Do you have a place where we can get married?

We do have a private place for you to elope!  We have an office in Circle Tower overlooking Monument Circle.  We offer civil ceremonies with room for up to 8 witnesses. There is room for 6 witnesses sitting or 8 standing.  We have a great view and we are centrally located!

Our space is in an office building and it's intended for informal ceremonies.  We are busy with short and sweet, civil ceremonies and it works for a lot of couples - but not all.  A lot of couples will look at all the other options and then decide to just make the legal part of their marriage short and sweet in our office.  This can be your starting place - know you can always come back to it.

Click on the link below for information about getting married in our office.  You can see pictures of our flower wall backdrop and photo/sign options.

What is your budget?

Many couples start with their budget.  I get MANY calls from couples asking where they can get married
for free or a very low fee.

There are MANY places where you can get married for free.  These spaces are usually public spaces - meaning a place open to the general public where there are other people walking around and life is going on all around you while you get married.

Public spaces may work great for you, or not.
Not everyone wants to get married with strangers walking around.
But, if it's your vibe, it can be a lot of fun!

If you are envisioning something a little more formal - or at least private - you may need to get creative if you are on a budget.  But it can be done!

A note about free and outdoor public spaces.

We have very little control of public spaces.  If it's outside, we can't control the weather.  We also can't control things like public festivals or park closures.

With this in mind, we only schedule these informal weddings up to 90 days in advance to give you a chance to look at the online calendars for conflicts.  You may not want to get married in the middle of a loud music festival on the Indy Canal Walk, or during a marathon.

We always recommend having a backup plan in case it rains.  We do our very best to accommodate bad weather, but we don't have an indoor space available for more than 8 witnesses.

We schedule a lot of last-minute elopements on warm sunny days!!

Important Disclosure

If you hire Marry Me In Indy LLC for an elopement at your chosen location, you are responsible for securing that location.  You must follow all the rules and regulations of public areas, have permission to use the location if permission is necessary, and pay any required fees. Please never assume it is OK to do anything you want in a public location. Just because a place is open to the public does not mean you can get married there at any time in any way you wish. Please keep in mind many locations also require photography permits.

Please make sure you take every step necessary to have the perfect elopement!

Diversity Statement
Marry Me In Indy celebrates the diversity of the human race. We are open to marrying anyone. Every race, creed, skin color, nationality, sexual orientation, or neuro-diversity. All are welcome here!  Our goal is to meet each couple where they are and help them have a positive wedding experience. We approach every wedding with an open mind - We don’t know anything about you until you tell us, and that’s only if you choose to tell us. Wedding ceremony scripts have been written for years for brides and grooms. Some couples are choosing to forego traditional gender roles altogether and are using the terms spouse or partner. If you have made the choice to use non-traditional pronouns, please let me know, and we will be happy to honor your preferences.   Any wedding ceremony script can be changed to reflect your personal preferences. The only second language we speak is German, but we do our best to communicate with everyone.
