Formal Wedding Ceremony
Your exclusive wedding officiant services in Indianapolis. From how to get married in Indy to the Just perfect wedding for you. If, for you, it's all about the ceremony, a secret wedding or a flash mob wedding you have found the wedding officiant in Indianapolis that can help you design your perfect wedding ceremony.
If you are planning a formal wedding in Indianapolis you are most likely looking for a professional wedding officiant who is able to walk you through your ceremony and help you take care of the details. Many couples still get married in churches. They have their pastor, minister, priest or rabbi marry them. Not everyone has this option. Maybe you and your future spouse share different religious or spiritual beliefs? Maybe you don't want religious or spiritual beliefs included in your wedding ceremony at all? These are some of the reasons why you hire a professional wedding officiant.
As an independent, professional, wedding officiant I give you the freedom to have the wedding ceremony you want. I don't have a pre-written ceremony you are required to follow. I do have pre-written ceremonies and ideas we can draw from in order to create a personalized ceremony just for you. Maybe you want to write your own ceremony and have me perform it? You are welcome to do that. Maybe you want me to write your ceremony? It's completely up to you. You are planning so many fine details of your big, dream weddings, I want your ceremony to perfect too!
I've included a great deal of information about writing your ceremony in my Ceremony Index. I've included many ceremonies I've written or performed or have been shared with me. I love it when couples find something I've never seen before so I can add it. I wanted to put all of my information together in one place to make it a resource not only for myself, but couples looking for it.
I offer several different wedding ceremony packages and prices. I understand couples planning a formal wedding have individual needs that don't fit into the budget options. It would be irresponsible to book the $150 Family Wedding, show up 15 minutes before your formal wedding is scheduled to start, expecting it to start on time and leaving 45 minutes later, no matter what. My prices are based on the time involved. I want to make sure I schedule all the time necessary to make sure everyone is comfortable. If you spent a year or more planning a wedding I don't want to ruin all that planning because of traffic or unforeseen circumstances. If you book a formal wedding I'm planning my entire day, if not my entire week, around you. I want to make sure I will have plenty of time to get to your wedding an hour early, just in case. I want to make sure we have time built into the schedule to start late. You may have every intention of starting on time but then something unexpected happens. I want to be ready for that, just in case. I've performed many formal weddings and I bring my experiences with me.
I'm almost always the last person a couple hires. They rent the venue, hire a caterer, have tastings, choose a photographer and a band or a DJ, then, they remember they need someone to marry them. It's then, they think about walking down the aisle, what they are going to say, what they are going to do. It's true, some couples really don't care about the ceremony at all. Anyone could show up and marry them. It doesn't really matter. Some couples have very low expectations or they are scared of the ceremony. They are so used to long, drawn out, boring, church weddings with a priest or a pastor telling them what to do that they don't realize they could have a light-hearted, short and sweet wedding ceremony filled with love and laughter where everyone is engaged and enjoying themselves. Some couples are visibly nervous coming to meet me. I want to make sure people know that I'm a neutral party. I want what you want. I'm not going to make you do anything. If you don't like the ceremony I write, tell me! Then we can write a ceremony you do like.
Both my Formal Wedding packages include personal consultations, either in person or phone or video chat. I regularly book couples traveling in from out of town. I use Google share documents for all my ceremonies so we are all on the same page. I don't limit emails, calls or meetings. Usually I have one in person meeting with a couple so they can meet me before they book their wedding. Occasionally, we will have another quick meeting a month before your wedding. Some couples never meet me until the rehearsal or the wedding. Couples generally have so many other details that need their attention, communicating by email works very well. We have every detail written down ahead of time. On your wedding day we are literally on the same page.
My Formal Wedding Ceremony Package is a great option for us to sit down, personalize your ceremony and plan your rehearsal. You can use the ceremony script and rehearsal plan to save money by running your own rehearsal. Often, everyone has been in a wedding before, they know how it works. They don't need me. I will arrive one hour prior to your wedding ceremony start time to make sure everything is in order and you will have up to 30 minutes past your scheduled start time to begin your wedding. This a an option for couples who are hiring a wedding planner or day of event coordinator that is going to lead your rehearsal. Several venue's, like the Mavris and Valle Vista have coordinators that run your rehearsal. They will tell me what to do just like they will tell everyone else what to do.
My Formal Wedding Ceremony Package with a Rehearsal is for couples who want me to lead the rehearsal and have all the assurances that their ceremony will be overseen by a professional. I highly recommend this for large weddings with large bridal parties. I also find it's necessary for couples that have complicated family dynamics. Sometimes you have families that don't quite get along. Maybe you have family members upset about your wedding not happening in a church? I find it helps to be at the wedding rehearsal to meet everyone ahead of time. It's important that everyone get's a feel for each other. Sometimes parents wonder "Who is this lady they hired?" Leading the rehearsal, or just being at the wedding rehearsal can make all the difference. Parents are welcome at meetings. It's not uncommon for mothers to accompany daughters to initial consultations. It's all OK. If you don't want your parents involved, that's OK too. I'm flexible. I try to be diplomatic and please everyone. My utmost priority is always the couple and their wishes.
Wedding Ceremony Consultation. I am very excited to add this option to my formal wedding package options. Many couples decide they want to have a friend or family member marry them. Either they want to save money or they want a particular person with them when they exchange vows. The problem many people run into is HOW? Some people don't feel comfortable getting ordained or completing legal documents. Some people want help with writing a ceremony and how the whole process works. For a fee of $100, I'm happy to sit down with you, plan your ceremony and rehearsal and also sign your marriage license and make everything legal. You will have the confidence of knowing your paperwork has been properly completed and you have the ceremony you want. If you decide later you would like me to perform your wedding ceremony/and or rehearsal, you would just upgrade the package with an additional $150 for a Formal Wedding Ceremony or $350 for Ceremony and Rehearsal. Call or email of additional information!
