Many Christian ceremonies are predictable. You use the same scriptures and say the same things in every ceremony. The meaning of marriage is outlined by your faith and your religion. When couples want to do something different I get to have a little fun. I get to think outside the box or give new meaning to something. This was my experience with The Cord of Three Strands Unity Ceremony. What is The Cord of Three Strands? 10/11/2023 1 Comment God's CrossGod's Cross Unity CeremonyGod's Cross is a beautiful sculpture. It's a lovely addition to a Christian couple's home. It's something you can have in your home throughout your marriage. It may simply be something to adorn your home or you may need it to give you strength with times get tough. Those tough time are just life. It may have nothing to do with your marriage, you simply need a reminder of our own faith and the power of prayer. A Christian marriage works because both of you have our own faith in God and then you join ourselves together with your faith in common.
What is the Unity Cross? The Unity Cross, or God's Cross, is a cross in 3 parts that you assemble as part of your wedding ceremony. The outer form of the Unity Cross represents the strength, leadership, and protection of the man. The bride's piece of the Unity Cross represents the beauty and the many capabilities of the woman. The brides piece is designed with intricate, beautiful detail and is placed inside the protection of the groom's cross. When they put the two pieces together, it represents the two becoming one. The Sculpture is held together by 3 pins. One for the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, or one for the Bride, Groom, and God. Below are 3 script options for ceremony. They can also be re-written any way you like. These are courtesy of https://www.unitycross.com. You can purchase your unity cross there! 10/11/2023 0 Comments Foot Washing CeremonyFoot Washing for a Christian Wedding.A foot washing ceremony is an option for couples having a Christian ceremony. Jesus washed his disciples feet on Maundy Thursday before he was given over to be crucified. It shows humility.
By performing this ceremony during your wedding ceremony you are showing that you are dedicated to being in service to each other as spouses. A foot washing ceremony will take time, so you will want to either have music being played or performed while you are doing this. I think it's a great option for a smaller wedding, but I'll be honest, if you spend half a day getting ready for your wedding and then have to take your shoes off, get wet and crouch down to wash feet - it may be a little much. Do you want to get wet? 10/11/2023 1 Comment The Rose CeremonyThe Rose CeremonyThe Rose Ceremony is a great option for acknowledging your mothers during your wedding ceremony. Feel free to honor your dad too!
The Rose Ceremony can also be a unity ceremony for the couple. If sending flowers is something you do, it could be perfect for you! |
