Elopement Ceremony Script Guide

A guide to choosing the perfect ceremony for your formal elopement or small wedding.

If you have scheduled a wedding in our office, we will perform a non-religious, civil ceremony.  We do not offer a ceremony script choice with our civil ceremony service performed in our office or outside on Monument Circle.

What words speak to you?

I offer a wide selection of shorter elopement ceremonies for couples to choose from.  If you book a small wedding or elopement you are welcome to choose one of these shorter ceremony scripts and write your own personal vows.  You are welcome to choose different vows, ring meanings and ring exchanges from my selections.  You can say, "We want Elopement Ceremony 8 but with Elopement Vow Option 5.

Some couples will take bits and pieces from several ceremonies to create their own ceremony.  Please know you are welcome to do that!  You are also welcome to provide me with any short ceremony you would like me to perform.  Some of my most popular options have come from couples who already knew the ceremony they wanted!  Please just give me enough time to practice the ceremony a few times. Please email your script to me at [email protected].

Personal Preferences

Please  let me know if you have preferred pronouns. Included in these preferences may be "spouse" or "partner"  instead of husband and wife. If you cultural tradition excludes kissing at the end of your ceremony, please let us know.

Diversity Statement
Marry Me In Indy celebrates the diversity of the human race. We are open to marrying anyone. Every race, creed, skin color, nationality, sexual orientation, or neuro-diversity. All are welcome here!  Our goal is to meet each couple where they are and help them have a positive wedding experience. We approach every wedding with an open mind - We don’t know anything about you until you tell us, and that’s only if you choose to tell us. Wedding ceremony scripts have been written for years for brides and grooms. Some couples are choosing to forego traditional gender roles altogether and are using the terms spouse or partner. If you have made the choice to use non-traditional pronouns, please let me know, and we will be happy to honor your preferences.   Any wedding ceremony script can be changed to reflect your personal preferences. The only second language we speak is German, but we do our best to communicate with everyone.
